Sony, and the PS4.

The psp ngp has been announced, and in my opinion it's only a matter of
time before Sony announces the PS4. Sony needs this. Why you ask? The fact
of the matter is this: Sony has been in third place for far too long, and
it has had a negative effect on the playstation brand name. If this keeps
up; the sony brand will not be taken seriously in the gaming market.

It should be obvious to sony that things need to change. If microsoft
manages to launch it's "xbox 720" before the ps4; then it may once again
mean doom for the ps4.

They need to focus more on hardcore games, and less about the cell processor.
Take the ps2 for example. It had optimal graphics, and had the biggest library
of games. Graphics was not the most important thing, and yet developers managed
to pull of some amazing feats on the ps2. If sony wants to be taken seriously
again; they have to stop the propaganda, and show their audience the games.

The 3ds will make you sick.

There have been several reports of individuals getting sick in Japan from
Nintendo 3ds usage. This may become a problem for the hand held. Other
people haven't gotten sick, but feel eye strain, and other mild symptoms.

Thankfully, Nintendo has added the option of completely shutting down the
3D effects altogether. In the process; this may confuse developers. Should
they make games that revolve entirely around a 3D interactive experience?
Or, should a simple 3D effect suffice?

It certainly will be interesting to see how this turns out. Nintendo should
make sure that the finished product has little, or no negative effects on
people. It's a biig deal, and it shouldn't be rushed in my opinion.

Is Rare dead?

I've been asking myself that quite a few times recently. There hasn't been too
much activity with Rare lately. No worthwhile announcements. No confirmations
on awaited sequels. Nothing. What we did get was a kinect game: kinect sports.

Even there homepage has been slow to update on information. In light of this
new questions come to mind. Is this the future of Rare? Making motion based
games for kinect? It could very well be that way for some time. The reason?
It is my opinion that original hardcore Rare titles would not sell well on
the xbox 360.

If this is true; it would be a pity. Rare is a great developer. As such, Microsoft
should do everything in their power to ensure that they make great games. Instead
of forcing them to make titles that follow the latest fad. Who knows what Rare would
create if they weren't being forced into something?

Guilty Gear- Where is it?

Seriously, where is Guilty Gear? It seems the entire series has gone on hiatus. Yes, I'm aware that a game was released for the xbox 360, but it's not a 2d fighting game. Overture as it is called; received mild reviews.

So, why haven't we seen a 2d iteration of Guilty gear on the current gen? There could be a few reasons. First: Sega Sammy may be investing most of it's resources into Blazblue. (A horrible choice in my opinion; since I don't really see Blazblue as a great fighting game)Second: The market for Guilty Gear may have simmered down. Especially after theps2. (This is where their core audience resided, but eventually the ps2 had to give way to the ps3)

Some would say that the "dust loop" caused the entire series to go into hiding. Such a statement is laughable at best. Sega Sammy really needs to reconsider it's decision of belittling this franchise.

Monster hunter portable 3rd is not coming to North America.

This isn't an official statement, but it is my opinion that Monster hunter
3rd will not be making an appearance stateside. I have reason to believe that plans for
it's release have been canned. How, and why did I arrive at this conclusion? It's simple.

Capcom themselves have remained silent about the issue altogether. No release dates
have been muttered by any gaming website, and the the title itself has been out in Japan for
an eon already. (Still no talks about a North American release date; only rumors)

I am disappointed in Capcom. The fans have really supported this company, but the
company itself seems to care very little about it's fanbase. Instead of releasing Dark Void,
or Bionic Commando..they should of taken the time to release Monster Hunter portable 3rd.
Instead; we the fans were forced to wait for something that wasn't going to happen. Capcom,
at the very least should have had the decency of saying this: "There won't be a release of
mhp3rd in North America."

Is it really that difficult to make such a statement?

In any case, many fans turned to importing, or piracy. Furthermore, english patches were
developed by several individuals, and are still being worked on to this day. A risk in itself, but
it does show how hardcore North American fans of mhp3rd are. Capcom, take note.

Project Draco- Upcoming Xbox 360 title

What is Project Draco? For those of you that don't know; Project Draco is a game that's
being developed for the xbox 360, and it will take advantage of the kinect.

So, what's so different about this kinect title? Well, it has dragons. You can fly, and stuff.
For the most part; very little is known about the game itself, and the trailer leaves more
questions than answers.

However, this game is being created by Yukio Futatsugi. (Creator of Panzer Dragoon series.)
That's enough to get any hardcore fan excited about a motion based game.

With Yukio Futatsugi at the helm; some would expect this to be a rail shooter of sorts.
They may be right, but perhaps it may shape up to be something entirely different.
Certainly a title to look out for.

Monster Hunter 3rd announced for PSP NGP.

It's no surprise that monster hunter 3rd is headed to the new portable.
However, some questions do arise. Will it be a carbon copy of tri for the wii, or
will there be more additions to the title; such as quests, and new monsters?

While I was watching the video of monster hunter during the big reveal of the ngp; I did
notice the translator calling it a "download version." This brings up the question: Will monster
hunter 3 be downloadable from day one?

Capcom should make the right decision, and MAKE it a downloadable game from day one.
US fans have been treated with a cold shoulder by Capcom. (For the most part.)
We're still waiting for 3rd on psp, and frontier is nowhere to be seen yet.

The internet is off. (In Egypt.)

Not really. Well, not here as of yet. (Although, it may occur sometime in the future if we dare challenge our rampant government.) However, this is beyond the point. Sometime in late January; the government of Egypt had decided to shut down all access to the internet.

What could possibly drive a government to make such a dire choice?

Nuclear fallout?

Plague?

The end of the world?

None of the above. The government simply didn't want the people to communicate in an effective manner as they wage war against a corrupt government that offers no more than two dollar an hour jobs. (If you can find a job to begin with.)

Ah, the glorious government of our nations. Don't you just love them?

"Blurring Entertainment and Reality."

I was surfing the internetz, and I just so happened to type PSP NGP into the search bar. Perhaps, there would be some new updates on it.

Upon hitting the search button; I was greeted by the official website, and a few words appeared under the link itself. Included were: "Blurring Entertainment and Reality."

I have said this before, and I will say it again. I'm up for tech advances, and the like. However, when people start to lose the sense of what is real, and what isn't; then the problem begins. What's worse? It almost seems like this type of behavior is being encouraged by the sony website.

It brought to mind an incident a friend of mine had while engaging in an online PC game. One of the users had threatened to kill himself, and post it as a video. A perfect example of a sophomoric idiot that had combined reality, and entertainment into one. I bet he thought there would be some sort of "kill-cam" after he acted upon his threat? Thankfully, he did not act upon it.

Examples like these are usually devoured by the media. Which in turn adds to the problem; when in fact much of the gaming populace are quite intelligent. That's not to say that a much bigger number of idiots will become more prominent in the future.

A shame really.
