The end of Dust 514

An experiment at the expense of every PS3 consumer that participated. This is exactly what this "game" was. Now, I know a few of you may proclaim; "Hey, it's not like CCP forced them to make any in game purchases!" That statement is true.

However, it is my opinion that the audience was lead to believe; that there would be a future to this project. Technically, this is true; project legion is the future of Dust 514. That's not to say that the Dust 514 demo was handled in a proper manner. The whole 514 demo went about in a terrible fashion; one that may have terrible repercussions for it's successor. Also, made the who player base seem like a bunch of play testers.

Issue #1: The Dust 514 community was never really aware of the status of this game. Everything seemed fine up until fanfest; naturally so. Releasing such information at a prior date; would have affected the sale of aurum, and clone packs. As such; no forewarning was given to the community. That in turn lead the community to believe that the 514 demo; would remain a top priority for CCP.

Issue #2: Transparency. A word that was thrown at CCP developers; in an attempt to gain just that. There was a time in which the community had thought that they were given transparency from the dev's. Fanfest proved otherwise.

Issue #3: Laser focused. Anyone who was part of the Dust 514 demo; knows of these two words. They now seem like a blatant effort to keep whatever sales were being made.

Issue #4: Cash grab. That's what the Dust 514 demo seemed like to most people. It may be a signal of other problems. Example? CCP may be looking for its next income source. They have failed twice.

Issue #5: Ignorant Eve Pilots. Read number four. The EVE cash cow can only last for so long. CCP has been reaching left, and right; in an attempt to gain more income. You can only sustain them for so long. New projects are a good thing, but if they continue in eliminating every project they invest into; what will become of CCP themselves?

All in all; the whole thing was a mess. CCP should of been more vocal with what was going to happen with the Dust 514 demo. It would of helped curb the extreme backlash.

Skyrim review blog post thing/

Skyrim.

Where do I begin? Such a massive game with untold amounts of hype
surrounding it. What single word can describe my overall Skyrim
experience?

Sigh.

That's exactly how I have chosen to begin this. "Sigh" is the
single word that comes to mind when looking back at my Skyrim
adventure.

The game begins in a marvelous theatrical fashion; in which you
are a prisoner, and are being hauled away to a chopping block.

You are in awe of the magnificent graphics, and well made presentation
into this intricate game world. After successfully making it through the
opening sequence; you are thrown into the game's world, and are free
to do as you wish. You can hunt the wildlife, mine, farm, delve into any caves,
help the citizens of Skyrim, or join a local faction. The world is yours.

Or so it would seem that way.

During your journey you may notice some instances that make no sense to
you. Such as flying mammoths, or goats falling out of the sky. You ignore
them; dismissed as minor bugs.

You encounter your first Dragon, and manage to slay it. You feel
accomplished, and absorb the soul; which grants you the ability to unlock shouts.
Later you encounter another of these ancient beasts, but something is wrong.
While the scaly menace is still very much a threat; you the player have
managed to absorb it's soul. The Dragon itself becomes invincible.

You begin to question if this is part of the game, or is it another bug?

You reload your save, and choose to fight the Dragon once more. You still
absorb it's sould before you should e able to, but this time; the skeleton
Dragon takes damage, and eventually falls to your arrows.

It's perfectly fine. Not a game breaking instance.

After collecting a nice little pool of gold; you decide it's time to
finally purchase a house. You are quite the happy little fellow, and
look around your new abode. It just so happens that you can place your
weapons on a display rack! Excited; you quickly put your best weapon of
choice on display. You look at your mighty blade, and feel satisfied.

Perhaps you can add some more items of value to this display. You save,
and make your way into another dungeon.

Upon returning from your recent dungeon battles; you look upon your
weapon racks, and notice that the item you had placed upon them has
vanished.

Oh horror of horrors!

You look around, but to no avail. Disgruntled by this; you decide to put
Skyrim on hold for some time. An update should be in order.

After placing the game aside for an amount of time; you decide to return.

You update, and everything seems to be working fine. It seems like most
of the bugs hav finally been cleared out.

Whilst exploring the vast landscape; the game freezes.

It's nothing important. Perhaps my PC/PS3/Xbox has overheated. You simply
reload your recent save, and are angered to know that your 'recent'
save was actually not all that recent.

You continue your adventure.

Once again; the game freezes. This time however; the save file has been
corrupted.

Skyrim is littered with bugs. Much more so than the previous games. These
bugs can quickly turn the experience into a nightmare.

With that said; what else is there to complain about?

Well, there are a few other matters, such as the lack of color. Many
first time adventure seeker may not notice this for quite an amount
of time in-game. It hit me while I was looking at an gold ingot.

It's suppose to look like gold. Isn't gold shiny, and you know; gold like?

That coupled with the fact that there aren't too many locations that are
interesting. Most of Skyrim does not stand out. Only a few areas will
really catch your eye.

These are nit picks compared to the game-breaking bugs.

On the plus side; the game is fun. Chances are you will encounter these
bugs, but will still feel compelled to continue the game. A true
testament of any great game.

Seriously though, test the game before release. Some of these bugs are
easily replicated, and the odds of the player encountering them are
high.

Great game, but the bugs. THE BUGS.

BUGS EVERYWHERE.

(By now the bugs are of no concern to you; thanks to patches, and such. Possibly. Maybe.)

How to find DLC quests in Dragon's Dogma.

People have been messaging me with this question.

Here we go.

DLC quests can be found in Gran Soren.

Instead of the Inn; make your way to the Pawn Guild. Next to the entrance to the Everfall (Which is located within the Pawn Guild) There is a quest board. This board is used exclusively with DLC quests, but I guess people just forget about it. After all; it serves no other purpose.

How to find the Griffin in Dragon's Dogma.

The Griffin is first encountered by the player in a real-time event in which a caravan is being attacked by Goblins outside of Gran Soren; the Griffin swoops down, and catches the player off guard.

After that, the Griffin remains highly elusive to the player. Encounters are minimal, and even then it is not guaranteed that the player will fell the beast. Thus, it is highly likely that the Griffin will ignore you, and leave the area.

This monster can be fought in the main storyline quest. However, it is not recommended that you rush the questline; so that you may fight this monster alone. Instead; we will find a Griffin on the world map.

The Griffin is often spotted in the following areas:

Eradication Site
Estan Plains
Northface Forest
Moonshower Cliffs

One way to encounter the Griffin is to leave Gran Soren, and start on the right path. You will know if the Griffin will be in the area if the you see a bandit archer atop the ruins of the former Gran Soren wall. Continue along the path, and you should see some more bandits making use of Ruins. They will rush you. Fight them, and create a spectacle; by now if the Griffin is within the area one of your pawns should announce something along these lines 'A grifffin!' Keep an eye on the skies, and pay close attention to where
the Griffin actually lands.

One area in which the Griffin will always spawn is the Eradication Site. (Look at the map for location; it's to the west of Aernst Castle) Make sure you leave for this area at dawn; as the Griffin will leave if night falls. Once you are within reach of the Eradication Site make sure to save. This is important, because you're encounter with the Griffin will probably not go as you initially planned.

A little to the south of the  Eradication Site are a few Goblins on the beach area. Go there, and start to fight them. Leave some of them to call in reinforcements. Run around the area, and your pawns should announce the Griffins arrival. Chances are it will not go after you, but some other creature in the area. You MUST run up to it, and try to scale it.

The creature can not leave so long as someone has a hold of it.

Another tactic I use at the Eradication site is to kill an enemy, and hold their corpse while standing perfectly still. This should trigger the Griffin to make it's initial descent.

What you do now is up to you.

Dragon's Dogma needs worthwhile DLC content.

Enough of the fetch quests.

The following is downloadable content that should be added, but probably won't.

1) New boss monsters.

2) Upgraded versions of current monsters. Once you reach a certain point in the game; 99% of boss monsters/ enemies pose little or no threat.

3) An arena. Players can choose to fight any given Boss monsters that can not be found anywhere else.

4) New areas on the world map.

Dragon's Dogma: Everfall Mini Guide

Within the Everfall; there are a series of ledges that can be grabbed onto.

Note: The first chamber you will encounter is the Chamber of Confusion. You must defeat the
Evil Eye to be given access to all of the Chambers.

These ledges lead to Chambers, and are home to the most challenging boss
fights in the entire game.

Listed below are the ledges, and yes they are in descending order. (You can count while falling)

The first ledge does not lead to a chamber. Instead it leads to the
surface. (Gran Soren) With that said; it will not count as a
'chamber ledge' etc. This post will likely be updated.

1st Ledge: Anxiety: Wight

2nd Ledge: Absence: Geo Saurians

3rd Ledge: Hesitation: Suarian Sages, Arch Hydra

4th Ledge: Apprehension: Two Cockatrice Simultaneous

5th Ledge: Remorse: Regular Golem, and Armored Cyclops

6th Ledge: Tragedy: Succubi, Gargoyles

7th Ledge: Lament: Ur Dragon

8th Ledge: Fate: Gorechimera, Chimera, and Wight. Simultaneous.

9th Ledge: Distress: Ice Variant of Drake/Wyvern/Wyrm

10th Ledge: Estrangement: Metal Golem/Regular Golem, and Lich (Regular,
or Metal Golem is randomly chosen)

11th Ledge: Woe: Lich, and Skeleton Lords

12th Ledge: Sorrow: Evil Eye

13th Ledge: Resolution: Three Ogres, and a Cockatrice

14th Ledge: Inspiration: Spirits, and Skeleton Sorcerers

How to find the Metal Golem in Dragon's Dogma.

If you're reading this; chances are you're asking where to find this elusive monster. Defeating two of these powered up Golem's is necessary to complete a quest. There is a problem however.

Fighting the Metal Golem on the surface world requires that you complete 'Witch hunt' this quest is easily missed; as quests are removed as you progress through the main storyline quests. The window of opportunity is very small. (Prior to fighting the Hydra at the encampment)

You've likely never received this quest.

There is one other place in which you can fight the Metal Golem.

Warning: Read on if you have defeated the Dragon by your own means.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 After a series of cut scenes; you will be granted access into the Everfall.
There are a series of ledges that appear once falling, and you can push the right trigger to grab onto one.
Each ledge leads to a door; These doors feature a name. Example: Chamber of Sorrow.
The chamber that you need to find is the Chamber of Estrangement. This chamber may contain a Metal Golem, but it may contain a regular Golem. If you didn't find the Metal version, you can leave the everfall, sleep a few days, and return to chamber to try once more.
This is the only way to fight a Metal Golem if you didn't have the chance to sign up for the 'Witch Hunt' quest at the Quest Board.
Dragon's Dogma worthwhile DLC
Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition: Review post thing.
The first, and most obvious thing anyone will observe about MCXbox360 is
the framerate itself. I take it that most people who will be purchasing
this game are just plain tired of their pc's not getting a decent amount
of FPS.
There are some differences.
In this version of Minecraft, everything can be crafted by a Menu that
is easily accessed. Once you have the necessary resources for the craftable
item that you need; simply highlight it, and push the 'A' button.
It does make things simpler, but that may not be to the liking of all
individuals.
Bugs are present, but they it's not to a point where the game is not playable.
These will likely be cleared in future updates.
Players can now choose to bring friends along via split screen. A great
idea for those who are tired of joining up with complete strangers.
Did I mention this isn't the most recent version of Minecraft?
No hunger bars, or Endermen here.
Not a bad thing for people who prefer the previous versions.
Monster Hunter Portable 3rd/ Enemy Profile: Great Jaggi
Great Jaggi is the leader of the lesser Jaggi enemies that are commonly encountered.
Threat to a new hunter: Minimal
Threat to veteran hunter: None
I really don't see how this can be a threat to anyone. If you're new; Great Jaggi will probably get a few hits on you, but it won't be enough to make you cower in fear.
When Great Jaggi roars, it will summon his lesser minions, but they're just a nuisance.
Monster hunter portable 3rd: The difference between New, and Veteran hunters.
 Ah, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd.
A seasoned Monster Hunter will pick up 3rd, and laugh at it's difficulty. Surely, the game IS easy for any individual who has mastered the previous games. (2nd G/Unite)
However, how does someone that is completely new to the monster Hunter World; view 3rd?
It would probably be like a nightmare. A new hunter is completely unaware of a monsters movements, weaknesses, attributes, and patterns. Plus they are more likely to make mistakes that will make their hunting missions even more perilous. Such as forgetting items that are needed for that specific mission. Cold/Hot drink, antidotes, and any other item that rid the player of status affects; are often overlooked.
The point? Veteran hunters should not look upon their new hunter companions, and say "How could you lose to this? It's easy!"
Surely, we weren't always Veterans.
